I need to just sit down with the JSM and go crazy for 7 hours-

But that’s not true. Don’t do that. It’s doing something wrong. Something about skipping over the actual building blocks that will progress us (being clean, healthy, exercised, organised) and trying to get just the most valuable output.

You know what’s gonna happen if you spend all of today on JSM? You won’t actually be healthy, and then you’ll have to eat lots and clean up and go outside all at the end of the day, and sleep late, and the cycle continues.

Recovery is separate from progress. It doesn’t mean recovering up to a certain level of progress-making that you were at before. It means recovering to the point where you can actually begin to make sustainable progress again. Sustainable is the key word. Get your lifestyle back, and don’t do anything productive until then. If you’re efficient, and you can quickly restore your lifestyle, then absolutely spend the later part of the day making progress, if you have the energy for it.

The recovery mindset is to understand that in your broken state, it’s not feasible or sustainable to make it back to your prime immediately. The progress you want to see today is practicing getting your lifestyle back.

And the recovery process is something about resetting, starting from 0, and just putting in the most critical things you need to recover.
