Sleep is a really interesting one.
While food and exercise and other things can be made fun, optimised for time and fitted into a day, sleep is just static.
Lay there for 8+ hours doing nothing.
Cut your evening off early. You could be making progress, but do nothing instead.
But again, this is a constraint. It feels restrictive because I haven’t fully embraced it yet.
What it means is that you can’t just wait until the evening to finish up your productive stuff for the day, and you can’t leave little jobs until then either. If you swear to sleep by a certain time, then you’re now dealing with the constraint of having to do things earlier in the day, or not being able to do them at all.
And this sounds like a really positive change. We’re not supposed to eat or use screens for an hour or more before bed, right? So if you want to be in bed by 11pm, for 8 hours until 7am. Then you have to be done with food and screens by 10pm. So you have to start bedmin around 9:30pm. So you have to be done with food and work before then. If you still want to do some side project work after dinner, then you want to be finished with dinner by 8pm.
The day gets squashed a bit earlier.
