Fragile means to break under stress and change. Robust means to resist against it. Resilient means to adapt to the change, reducing or preventing negative effects.

Antifragile means to innovate, using stress and change as leverage for improvement.

An antifragile mindset can be very powerful. It requires you to overcome fear to an extent, and start embracing change as exciting and new, rather than being scared of it. This mindset accepts that some changes will be bad, especially in the short term - but it’s an upwards trajectory over time.

Some parts of life don’t need this mindset. If you’re eating healthy, sleeping well and loving your hobbies, making drastic changes in the hope they get better is unnecessary. However, in places where there’s always room to grow, like work, socialising, competition, and personal projects, embracing large changes has the potential to catapult you ahead of people who are stuck in their ways.
