Experience in a certain activity or field comes from investing lots of time and energy into it, and exploring many different situations it presents. It is different to skill, which can be gained in a short time with the right techniques. Experience is more about understanding and involvement.
Everyone has experience in their lives, but where it is placed varies wildly. Some have lots of social experience. Some have lots of experience with productivity. There is no superior area to have it. But the JSM only exists and iterates because I continue to gain more experience with the concepts of success, productivity and more.
Experience can also exist at any layer. Some may know their goals clearly after lots of time thinking about them. Some might have enough experience to know exactly which habits they want in their life, and have reliable systems for sustaining them. Some may have lots of experience dealing with the chaos of the world, making them resistant to sudden changes and stress.

Interesting thought.
We both know that you, James, have developed a lot of complexity in your thoughts and systems.
I’ve been under the impression that many others just don’t have that complexity in their lives.
But maybe that viewpoint isn’t right.
Complexity arises from anywhere. Some figure it out, some live within it.
And most people spend the majority of their life around others.
So - when you hear discussions behind closed doors. When you see shades of kept secrets and manipulative lies. When it feels like others have so much social complexity while you’re surface level. Just know that your complexity is merely elsewhere. They fill their brains with thoughts of social situations, relationships, appearances. You fill yours with realisations, systems and habits. And that is where most people will stay surface level for eternity.
And besides, I really hate social complexity. That might be a thing for me. I do only enjoy the simple social events. Work sessions. Going for runs. Playing games. Alcohol and cooking. When things start to get too complicated, that’s when I start to run away. Back to my own company, because I know I won’t complicate things.
